I am looking for a report where I can view detailed write-offs and adjustments within a date range. Does something like this exist within PracticeWorks or is there an Expert available?
There are a couple options to get the information you're looking for.
The first is the Adjustment/Comment Summary report which can be run following these steps:
1.) Click File.
2.) Click Print.
3.) Click Accounts and Receivables. (If using an older version of PracticeWorks, click Other reports instead.)
4.) Click Adjustment / Comment Summary.
5.) Set the criteria as desired. (If using an older version of PracticeWorks, click Print Report to reveal the criteria window.)
6.) Specify separate or combined reports (and select which Producers to include).
7.) Specify a date range, using MM-DD-YY format for both the "From" and "To" entries.
8.) Click OK.
The second is the Periodic Report using the list adjusting entries option checked which can be run by following these steps:
1.) Click File.2.) Click Print.3.) Click Accounts and Receivables. (some older versions skip this step)4.) Click Periodic reports.5.) Enter the desired date range for the report in the first two blank fields.6.) Select "All" or "Specific" from the button options beside "Print reports(s) for."When "Specific" is selected, click the drop-down arrow (in the window which opens up beside that option) to search for the desired producer's name. Click on the desired producer's name.7.) Make the desired selection(s) under "Reports to print." - in this case make sure to select combined a/r recap and list adjusting entries8.) Click OK and Follow the pop-up prompts to print or preview the report.
This report will list all the individual adjustments used during the date range selected.
Do you have specific codes/comments that you use for these adjustments? If so, go to:
Plug in your date range and which producer(s) you want the report for.
Can also do the following:
File --> Print --> Other/Misc Reports --> Marketing Report
Pick your date range. In the "Target Transaction" box, click "Select", then select "Adjustment Codes" at the bottom of the pick list, then find the code(s) you are looking for. UN-check "print only the first occurrence of a transaction". Click OK.
Using this Marketing Report will only work if the adjustments in question are posted to a patient and not to the account. If posted to account, they will not come up in this report.
Yes, I forgot to mention that detail.
