Balance outstanding

Hi Exchange

when a patient prepays or places a deposit for the work planned and the work is not yet completed my system does not give my receptionist a  balance due in the Treatment Tab.

This has proved really embarrassing over the years and many errors have occurred. short of charging for all items at the start of treatment so that outstanding amount shows up in full ( not ideal )  or short of creating a fee separate to treatment ( again not ideal )  how does our reception know the balance outstanding without having to get her calculator out what should we do ?
