We are trying to comply with G.D.P.R. law and are seeking our patients' consent for all communications with them.

One patient has requested that we do not send him automated appointment reminders.

Fair enough, his track record for appointment keeping is excellent.

However, he has asked for his annual examination reminder to be texted to him rather than letter or e-mail.

R4 will not allow us to do that.

If 'SMS' is switched on, he will automatically get regular appointment text reminders against his wishes.

If 'SMS' is switched off, R4 will not allow us to select SMS for his annual examination reminders.

Help please, I do not want a complaint to the Data Protection Registrar and to be the first to have the new law tested on them !
