Add to system defined button in charting

We need to be able to add another code/posting option to a system defined button.  In addition to D1351, the hygienists need to be able to select D1353 when clicking the "sealant" button.  How do we accomplish that?  As you can see, we have only one spot left for a button on this page - we certainly don't want to use it when there is an existing button that would accomplish that goal.

Are they needing to make it so that both the D1351 and D1353 are used at the same time in those scenarios? or to be able to choose between one or the other?

If it's to potentially be used at the same time, setting the 1353 as an autolink (secondary option) on the button would work, then they can check the box when it's needed and it'll apply both codes. IT will always use the D1351, but only use the D1353 when needed.

if it needs to be a choice between the two, then creating a custom button that has both codes on the primary options would be the way to go. This would allow them to choose which code they are using, but not both at the same time.

@jdowner  Yes, there is a potential to need both codes on the same visit.  I just tried adding D1353 as an auto link, but when I choose that for work done today, it automatically enters D1351 into the patient's history.  If I check the D1353 box that pops up after the fact, then there would be TWO entries for the same tooth, same DOS.

OK, so there will be times when the D1353 will be used and not the D1351.  You will want to create the custom button for it then.  If it's only set as the autolink to the system made button, it will always apply the D1351 regardless of if you check the D1353 or not.  My suggestion would be on the custom button to not add a code to the primary code options and put both on the autolink/secondary code option.  This will make it so you can pick just one, or potentially both as needed.

Consider combining codes that are not tooth specific into one predefined button.

Then create a button for the 1353 code and name Sealant Repair.
