Turn Off Care Credit Processing in PracticeWorks

Our office does not want to process Care Credit payment through PracticeWorks any longer.  We would like to process the payments online and then post them in PracticeWorks.  How can we turn off the processing through PracticeWorks.  It makes it difficult to post Care Credit payments that were processed online.  When PracticeWorks is not processing the payments and we post a Care Credit payment to the ledger, with there still be a Care Credit section on the daily reports?  If not, where will the Care Credit payments show up on the reports?

Re: Turn Off Care Credit Processing in PracticeWorks

In order to disable the Care Credit Integration go to File > Preferences > CareCredit > CareCredit Enabled.

With it currently enabled, you'll see the checkmark next to it. Click on the option and you will get a pop-up to confirm you want to disable it.

You will need to have at least a level 8 access to do this.

re: When PracticeWorks is not processing the payments and we post a Care Credit payment to the ledger, with there still be a Care Credit section on the daily reports? For this answer, look at the payment code you are using. List > Transaction Code > Edit and it will have a payment type. that may help you to know how it will show on the daily report.

Re: Turn Off Care Credit Processing in PracticeWorks

When Carecredit is not enabled within PracticeWorks, you will not be able to use the Carecredit payment code or any code that is created and set to use the CareCredit type.  You will receive the message "Please call CareCredit to enroll or for assistance in enabling your CareCredit integration."

If you do not use the CareCredit integration to post CareCredit payments, then you would need to use our older method of posting CareCredit payments, which do not show up in the CareCredit section on the deposit.

This method would have you create either a patient payment code with the type set to "Credit (TOS)" so it would show up in the credit card section on the deposit or as an adjustment code with its type set as "Collection (adj)" and to decrease the balance and it would then show up in the Adjustment list on the A/R recap page.
