Copy & Paste within the Treatment Card (Version 14)

Jump to solution

I've noticed that with Version 14 we are now unable to copy and paste in the Treatment Card.  In our office this function with previous versions saved a lot of duplicate typing of the same information in a Questionnaire that also needs to be charted into the treatment card.  Copy and Paste is also nice to use when we are working with families that have several people as patients and the same comment needs charted in each patient's chart.  Would this by chance be an enhancement planned for future releases?

Good morning Kelly (ranjbar‌),

I agree, the copy and paste functionality  has always been  extremely useful in reducing duplicate entries and increasing staff productivity within the Treatment card and other areas of OrthoTrac.  The inability to copy and paste in treatment card  has been  identified as a design flaw  in version 14.0.0.25 of OrthoTrac and will be corrected in a future version.  In the meantime, the workaround is to use the standard Windows keyboard shortcuts of CTRL-C for copy and CTRL-V for paste.

Did you try it?  We have always used the CTRL keys and it is currently not working for us.  Does it matter if you are in Comment or Edit?

Using the CTRL keys for copying and pasting in the treatment card has been working great in both Comment and Edit.

Good morning Amy,

We've successfully tested using the Windows keyboard shortcuts of CTRL-C for copy and CTRL-V for paste. This functionality  will work in both comment only and edit charting. The functionality is not available in all areas of charting, but will be allowed in the following areas:

-- TXCard tab: Today's Visit section for entering treatment notes
-- TXCard tab: Aligner Tracking, Upper Tray, Start Tracking, Instructions/Notes field
-- TXCard tab: Aligner Tracking, Lower Tray, Start Tracking, Instructions/Notes field
-- Tooth Chart tab: Elastic Wear Instructions section
-- Tooth Chart tab: Extraction Instructions section
-- Notes tab: Entire section

Is the functionality of copy/paste w/CTRL keys in the Today's Visit section going to be enabled in the update that's due any day or the one scheduled for August? Our TC is "dying" with being unable to copy/paste during consult appointments. She is an amazing TC but one of the worst spellers so she has word document on the computers she uses with pre-set comments that have been double checked for grammer and spelling.

Laura,

The copy and paste option  is not one of the listed corrections in version 14.1. However, the workaround of using the Windows keyboard shortcuts  CTRL-C for copy and CTRL-V for paste  will work in the current version of OrthoTrac, allowing your TC to use her pre-set comments.
