Good morning PracticeWorks community,
PracticeWorks 8.0.1 is hot off the press and we are actively working on 8.0.2. This release will include two important updates.
1. CDT 2018 codes
2. Credit Card Insurance Payments
I've included a few screen shots showing our progress.
From the insurance payment window the drop down will now include "Credit" as a Payment type. Once selected the Check number field becomes a Memo field. A 15 character description can be entered here.
A new payment type, IP CR will be added to the ledger. Below you see the Memo entered on the Insurance Payment screen.
Additionally we added Bulk Credit Insurance Payments. From the bulk payment entry screen the Credit option will be available. As with the individual insurance payment, the bulk will provide a 15 character memo option.
A new payment type, BULKIP CR will be added to the ledger.
The credit card insurance payment will be reflected on payment reports with the above descriptions.
If you have any questions please leave a comment below.

Do you know if it's going to make it so that if you were to manually type in IP CR if it'll pull up the ePayment module so that they can run the card at that time? or the same when they are in a bulk payment and they choose Credit type, if at some point it'll pull up ePayments to run the card?
for individuals, i would think at the moment they choose IPCR and tab over, just like it does if they manually type in "Visa" or "MC."
and for bulk payments, as long as Credit type is chosen, the ePayment module can either pop up when the choose is selected, OR when they Click "OK" to close out the payment that the ePayment module pops up to run. wouldn't make sense to have it pop up when you click "Add patient payment/adj" or it'd potentially try to open the module every time you add a patient to the bulkIP.
Good questions johnathan.d!
I'll take them inline:
Do you know if it's going to make it so that if you were to manually type in IP CR if it'll pull up the ePayment module so that they can run the card at that time? If the user has ePayments and enters an individual insurance credit card payment, the ePayment screen will automatically appear after the Blue Book option is chosen.
or the same when they are in a bulk payment and they choose Credit type, if at some point it'll pull up ePayments to run the card? Once the payment type and amount are recorded, the user will receive the ePayment screen. If they choose to cancel at that time a button will appear on the screen and allow them to run the card later. Of course we recommend the card be run immediately.
for individuals, i would think at the moment they choose IPCR and tab over, just like it does if they manually type in "Visa" or "MC." We are using the IP payment type, not the VISA, MC, etc payment types. When entering IP the user will select the payment type on the existing insurance payment screens (individual or bulk). Once the payment type is selected the description will reflect the type of insurance payment (IP, IP EFT, or IP CR).
Let me know if there are any other questions about this.
Yes very helpful and good to know it it will integrate into epayments as expected.
