Is there a way for the clinical staff to alert to the admin staff that they are ready for a patient?

With everything going on with COVID-19, we are trying to figure out protocols that can be put in place when we reopen. We are not using our waiting room at the moment and instead we are waiting for the clinical staff to be ready to take the patient back before letting them come in the building.

 

Is there a way that the clinical staff can let the front desk know that they are ready (like turning the appointment a different color when the patient checks in)? We are trying to reduce the amount of contact between the admin staff and the clinical staff.

There are 5 colors (statuses) that an appointment can go through: Check-in, Seat, Wait for Dr., Suspended, and Checked-out. 

If a patient is checked in at the front desk, could the clinical staff put the appointment into "Seat" mode, indicating that they are ready to seat the patient? Or could they put the appointment into Seat mode, and then immediately put it into Wait for Dr mode (most people don't use that status). Then when the patient is in their chair they can turn off the Wait for Dr mode and the patient would just be seated again?

They can't go straight to "wait for doctor"?  They have to "seat" the patient first?
