charting REMOVAL of an implant

How would we go about this?

There is actually a system-defined button Titled Impl Rmvd (implant removed) that can be added to the chart that will remove the graphic for the implant. however, it will not put a code into the tx plan or ledger for the purpose of reporting it to insurance or charging for it if needed.   In order to have it on the ledger, the CDT code 06100 would need to be used on the checkout/ledger. This code, however, does not remove the graphic on the chart.

To add the button to the chart:

  1. Open the charting module for any patient
  2. In the Chart button section find a blank space and right-click on that space.
  3. Select the option "Add button"
  4. On the Select type of button to add window under the System defined button list, select "ImplantRemoved" and click OK jdowner_0-1656449193721.png
  5. At this point, you can select the needed tooth and click the Impl Rmvd button and it will remove the graphic for the implant from the tooth.

Note: The roots will not be added back to that tooth graphically and the soft tissue graphic will be unchanged.

For anyone interested....I never heard back from PW on this, but I did find a system defined button.  I added it to charging lon enough to remove the implant in question and then I deleted the button.

Are you using code D6100 "Removal of Implant"? If it is part of the charting codes, one would presume the chart would show it removed.

Sorry, @carolyn621 I forgot to mention that D6100 is the code I was planning to use

So I have to add a button to the hard tissue charting in order to mark it removed?  This is such a rare situation, I hate to take up valuable real estate with such a code.

I hope you received an answer although if you have not...... consider adding the code under the IMPLANT button or possibly under EXTRACTIONS. The predefined buttons are nice although not since they cannot be customized.
