Server Upgrade 2

Jump to solution

I am installing a new physical server and propose to install R4+ on a virtual machine within that server.

Do I really need to load MS Office on this VM ?

In the past 15 years our server has been just that, a server, and we have never ever run a report or printed anything from the server, only from workstations.

Can I load R4+ on our VM without it requiring MS Office ?

Many Thanks,

Ed.Byrne

No, if you are not intending to run reports or send letters you do not need Office. However, depending on how or if you send emails form R4 you might need Outlook.
