What is the 'ECS Plan Type' used for in the Insurance Plan setup? We have never used this and have not had any problems. We participate with Delta Dental and MetLife as PPO providers. Is this something we should be setting up in the plan, and what is it used for?
That field is used for practices using our electronic claims services. If you are not using electronic claims through us, you can ignore the field, if you are using electronic claims, you should be selecting the correct plan type from the drop down list. Options here are HMO, PPO, DMO, Indemnity, and none.
