Using a laser printer to print xrays and intraoral photos

We need to buy a new printer. We're looking at a color laser printer, but we're concerned about photo and xray quality. Does anyone have experience using a color laser printer for xrays and intraoral photos?

@tyson_edwards do you know if there are any suggested color laser printers in our system requirements for images?

Re: Using a laser printer to print xrays and intraoral photos

From a SoftDent compatibility perspective, we recommend the below:

  • HP printer using the HP PCL 6 or PCL 5E driver

  • Universal printer drivers are not supported; use printer-specific drivers

I can't really speak to the image quality of the different brands / printer types for printing those types of images but if you stick with HP with the above drivers, SD should handle it ok.
