Because most functionality isn't avlb on Walkins, we have to convert everyone to a patient in order to prep for appointments. We use contact notes to make sure we verify insurance, invite the patient to register online, get the referral and x-rays from the referrals. If a patient then cancels and is never going to reschedule, we manually have to delete all contact notes, alerts, EMR and consent notes, appointments, delete out all of their demographic info, then set them up so that we reuse their chart for someone who we are actually going to see. Seems like this should be something that's automated but only with a super-user access.
If a patient was entered on the schedule however never came to the office you CAN delete this patient. The design of the program is if there is ANY history, inclusive of appointment history, Win OMS does not want you to loose this information thus not allowing you to accidentally delete a patient record. However, if we intentionally want to remove this patient from your database you will have to "delete" the patients appointment, which will place them in the history file. Then you will need to run a utility to remove all the deleted appointments, assuming deleted appointments are errors or no shows. This can be done within Scheduler >Purge appointments. Please be careful when running this option as you may loose more than the deleted appointment.

This deletes the appointment but does not delete the chart. We should be able to delete the chart.
How though? Purge appts only deletes appts, not charts. Also purge appts should be updated so that it's smart enough to only run on people who only ever had deleted or cancelled appointments if we so choose in the settings.
