patient photos in Winoms

Is it possible to attach a camera to WinOms, take a photo (to identify a patient), and have it downloaded to the patient chart?

We are currently taking a photo and then following these steps:  (there must be a simpler way)

To take a patient photo

  1. Take a photo with your phone, email it to the office email, and download it to the patient photos file. Be sure to include the patient’s name in the email and rename the photo to the patient's name
  2. Go into the imaging software and add a new visit
  3. The visit type will be a photo
  4. Gallery is Thumbnail
  5. Upload the photo to the imaging software.
  6. Go back to the chart patient demographics and click on the photo icon. Once you open the icon, choose the image.
  7. From the dropdown menu, choose OMS imaging software
  8. Under Visit, choose photo
  9. Then choose the photo you want to display

We scan a driver's license, then set as patient portrait as well.

We did discover you can take a patient photo with your iPhone, send it to the office email, and download it to your computer. You can add it directly into the chart using the browser option without making it a patient visit. FYI you must take your photo in the Landscape position for it to view the correct way. if you take it in portrait mode your photo will be sideways!

We scan their photo ID, then set as patient portrait.
